Zdeno Chara leaves Boston.

After 14 years with the Boston Bruins, he signs with the Washington Capitals. Chara is the third star defenseman for the Bruins (along with Bobby Orr in 1976 and Ray Bourque in 2000) to end his career elsewhere. His departure occurs in the same year that Red Sox trade Mooke Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers on February 10,2020, and that Tom Brady of the New England Patriots signs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on March 11, 2020.
