Winthrop (Deane) House is built in Winthrop.

Built for a son of John Winthrop, it is located at today’s 40 Shirley Street. Winthrop, had been annexed by Boston in 1832, but subsequently becomes an independent town. The oldest, wood frame house in continuous occupation in the U.S. , it is today used by the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association.
