William Brereton is granted land in today’s East Boston.

John Gorges grants Brererton all of the land east of the Charles River as far as today’s Nahant. After the Massachusetts Bay Company objects, Gorges is instead granted just two islands in Boston Harbor (later Noddles Island and Breeds/Hog Island) to Brererton, who remains in England.
