Weymouth is settled (second) by Europeans.

September 30, 1623

(Sept.) Robert Gorges leads a second attempt to form a settlement here. Early settlers include Rev. William Blackstone, John Bursley, William Jeffrey, Samuel Maverick, and Thomas Walford. The town adopts is current name and is incorporated on September 2, 1635.
