West (William) House is built.

(ca.) It is located at 20 Hereford Street. The first occupants are the hide dealer and his wife. Subsequent occupants include lawyer and justice William Loring and civic leader and park supporter Joseph Lee. The building is converted to apartments in 1946 and into condominiums in 1973.
