Weems (Katherine Lane) is born in Boston.

The daughter of the president of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Fine Arts, Katherine Lane Weems grows up at 53 Marlborough Street, and studies privately and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She becomes known for her realistic sculptures of animals. Weems dies in Rockport on February 11, 1899.
