WBCN establishes a news department.

(Oct.) Norm Winer is the first news director. He is briefly succeeded by Bo Burlingham in June 1970, whose tenure ends four days when he is indicted for his activities as a member of the Weather Underground, and succeeded by Danny Schecter, who is quickly dubbed “The News Dissector.”
