Watch Houses are established.

General Court orders that each of the five houses established are to be staffed by five members of the Night Watch. They are subsequently located near the Old North, near the New North, at Dock Head, in the South End and on Bedford (originally Pond) Street. One is ordered for the west part of Boston in 1773.
