Vietnam conflict ends with the signing of the Paris Peace Accords.

January 27, 1973

Although never a declared war, more than two million Americans soldiers serve in Vietnam, 58,220 are killed, and more than 150,000 are injured during the conflict. The last U.S. combat troops leave on March 29, 1973, and the civil war ends when North Vietnamese troops capture the South Vietnamese capital of Saigon in April 1975.
