Upton (George B. Jr.) House is built.

Architect: Abel Martin. Built for the businessman and his wife, it is located at 19 Marlborough Street. The building is sometimes operated as a lodging houses, beginning in about 1900. Subsequent occupants include lawyer Arthur Hill. The building is converted back into a single-family home in 1989.
