Town library faces a book shortage.

Responding to the emergency, an advertisement runs for the next week in newspapers asking that books be returned to the library. A law is also passed that directs, “all persons who have any of the town’s library or can give notice of any books or other things belonging to ye Town House before ye late fire, to inform ye town’s treasurer thereof in order to ye being returned.”
