Thomas Gardner arrives in Gloucester.

An immigrant from Dorsetshire, he becomes the fishing plantation’s first overseer. Gardner and Roger Conant go on to found Salem (then Naumkeag). Gardner dies on January 9, 1675. (12/29/1674 OS).
