Thirteen candidates are elected to the Boston City Council.

Elected at-large are incumbents Michelle Wu (64,978), Annissa Essaibi George (45,524), and Michael Flaherty (51,621), and newcomer Julia Mejia, who becomes the first Latina elected to the Boston City Council, when a city-wide recount finds her the winner over Alejandra St. Giullen in the closest election in Boston history on December 9, 2019. Incumbents elected by district include Frank Baker, Andrea Campbell, Lydia Edwards, Edward Flynn, Kim Janey, and Matt O’Malley. Newcomers elected by district are Ricardo Arroyo (5), Kenzie Bok (8), and Liz Breadon (9). For the first time in history, women make up the majority of the Boston City Council. Voter turnout is 16.5%.
