Those elected to the newly-expanded council are (at-large) Christopher Iannella, Michael McCormack, Albert O’Neil, and Joseph Tierney; (district) Bruce Boling, James Byrne, Maura Hennigan, James Kelly, Brian McLaughlin, Tom Menino, David Scondras, Robert Travaglini, Charles Yancey. McCormack is the top vote getter with 87,824. David Scondras (Fenway-Mission Hill) is elected the first openly gay member of the Boston City Council.
