Thaxter (Adam Wallace) House is built.

Architect: Edward Shaw. Designed in the Greek Revival style, it is located at 59 Mount Vernon Street. Subsequent occupants include botanist Jacob Bigelow and Thomas Bailey Aldrich, who moved here from 1890 dies here in 1908.
