Taylor (James) is born in Boston

The son of Isaac and Gertrude (Woodward) Taylor, James Taylor grows up in North Carolina and on Martha’s Vineyard, releases his first album in 1968, and goes on to become one of the most popular folk singers of his time. He marries Boston symphony Orchestra administrator Kim Smedvig in 2001, and lives in Brookline and Lenox.
