Some 5,000 unemployed men storm the State House.

The group, led by Herbert Casson and Morrison Swift, demand public assistance and public works jobs to help them through the recession. Some of the demonstrators later join Coxey’s Army to demand federal action to end the national unemployment crisis on a march from Massillon, Ohio to Washington on May 1, 1894.
