Scottow’s Dock is created.

Merchant Joshua Scottow excavates a marshy cove in the area behind today’s Bostonian Hotel, creating an enclosed dock accessed from the Mill Creek. The north side of the dock is filled in sometime between 1680 and 1706. The remaining open channel is filled at the end of the 18th century.
