Santarpio’s restaurant opens.

Operated by Frank Santarpio and originally a bakery, it is located at 111 Chelsea Street. The restaurant begins to serve what some consider among the best pizza in Boston in 1933. Decorated with pictures of famous boxers, the restaurant continues to be operated by the Santarpio family today.
