Roxbury Gas Light Company Gasholder building is built.

1875

[1873-BGL] Also known as a “gasometer,” the circular brick building is located at 891 Massachusetts Avenue. The surrounding plant is demolished in 1906 and the gasometer building has windows installed and is used as a movie theater and exhibition space in the 1920s, a light manufacturing plant in the 1930s and a warehouse in the 1980s. It is converted to a hotel in 2001.*
