Roe v. Wade decision removes nearly all state laws against abortion.

Supreme Court finds that the “right of privacy . . . Is broad enough to encompass a woman’s decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy.” In its decision, the court introduces the trimester formula for deciding abortion cases and cites the court’s 1972 decision in Baird v. Eisenstadt.
