Richards (William B.) House is built.

(ca.) [1890-BGL] Architect: Frederic Pope. Built for the metal dealer and his wife, newspaper editor Cornelia Walter Richards, the former newspaper editor, it is located at 2 Marlborough Street. The building is purchased by The Atlantic Monthly in 1927, subsequently used as a lodging house, converted to apartments in 1979 and into condominiums in 1987.
