Rabbi Jacob Zuber is killed in a park in Roxbury.

The rabbi is robbed of $7 and beaten to death in a park in the Elm Hill area of Roxbury. A week later, a group of African-American and Jewish residents of the neighborhood meet with city officials at Freedom House and establish the Roxbury Citizens Committee.
