Prof. Jack Szostak is awarded the Nobel Prize.

A professor at Harvard Medical School and doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital, he shares the award in physiology or medicine with three others for explaining how chromosomes that carry genes are degraded. After receiving a call from Stockholm informing him of the award, he hands the telephone to his wife and is heard asking, “How do you hang this up?”
