Plymouth Theatre opens.
September 23, 1911
Architect: Clarence Blackall. It is located at 129 – 131 Stuart Street. The theater seats 1,390. Boston Herald critic Elliot Norton calls it “One of the crucibles of American drama” because of the many significant plays produced here. It becomes the Gary movie theater in 1958. The building is demolished in approximately 1980.
