P.P. Caproni and Brother is formed.

Founded by Pietro Caproni and his brother Emilio, it is located initially in the former studio of Paul Garey at 12 Province Court. The brothers buys buildings at 10 Newcomb Street in 1895 and 1918-1920 Washington Street in 1896 and combine them to form a single studio in 1900. One of the foremost cast fine art studios in the U.S., the company’s works include the 16 plaster casts of Greek and Roman statuary set in niches above the third floor balcony of Symphony Hall The Caproni gallery and buildings are purchased by Robert Danthine in 1960, then by Lino Giust in 1971, who operates the Giust-Caproni gallery until 1995. The business and collection of Caproni casts are purchased by Robert Shure in 1993
