O’Connell (Cardinal William H.) Minor Seminary is built.

It is located on the former site of the House of the Angel Guardian orphanage at 350 South Huntington Avenue. The institution merges with St. John’s Seminary in Brighton in 1968. The building is purchased by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in 1976.
