Northeastern beats Boston University 5-4 on a power play goal in double overtime at Boston Garden. The next day, Boston Globe reporter Tara Sullivan calls the Beanpot, “A uniquely Boston event, with a long and storied history, years of competition that seem to fuel each ensuing contest with the simmering energy of those that came before. . . handed down from graduating class to graduating class, through generations of players and fans alike . . .”
