North Station opens.

August 19, 1928

Architect: Fellheimer & Wagner. It is located on Causeway Street. The station is dedicated on November 14, 1928, when President Calvin Coolidge uses a key made from Yukon Gold to turn a switch in the White House that turns the lights on in the station via telegraph. A fire interrupts service between January 20, 1984 and April 20, 1985. The station is replaced by a new facility built underneath the Fleet Center in 1995.
