No. 9 Park opens.

Operated by Barbara Lynch, it is located in the basement of the Amory-Ticknor House. It becomes one of the top-rated restaurants in Boston, and Lynch, along with Jody Adams and Lydia Shire, lead the rise pioneering women chefs in the Boston restaurant scene. Lynch goes on to open a number of Boston-area restaurants. The last four in Boston – No. 9 Park, and Drink, Menton, and Sportello, all on Congress Street – close in 2024.
