Night Watch officers are briefly given a raise in pay.

Members of the Night Watch and their supporters wait until enough other residents leave Town Meeting to vote for raise their pay from 50 cents to 75 cents per night. But the pay raise is rescinded by a vote at the next Town Meeting.
