News of the Boston Marathon Bombings is first transmitted on the Internet.

Dam Lampariello, a Suffolk University student, posts “Explosion at coply” on Twitter at 2:50 p.m. along with a photo of Boylston street one block from the finish line that captures smoke from the first blast and the fireball from the second. It is among the first of 27.8 million tweets on the subject sent out in the first week after the bombings.
