New England Patriots win with help from a ground crew member in Foxborough.

December 12, 1982

The Patriots defeat the Miami Dolphins 3-0 at Sullivan Stadium. Late in the fourth quarter, snow plow driver Mark Henderson brushes snow from a spot on the field making to help John Smith kick the game-winning field goal. At the time, Henderson is on a work-release program while is serving a 2 1/2 year prison sentence for a series of burglaries. Eight years later, on December 17, 2000, quarterback Drew Bledsoe brushes snow from the field to help Adam Vinatieri kick a game-winning field goal to beat the Buffalo Bills 13-10 on the same field, later explaining, “We couldn’t find a convict.”
