New England Patriot Darryl Stingley is paralyzed in a game in Oakland.

In an exhibition game, the wide receiver has his neck broken after being tackled by Raider linebacker Jack Tatum. The injury leaves Stingley paralyzed from the neck down until his death at age 55 in Chicago on April 5, 2007.
