Massachusetts General Hospital settles a whistle-blower complaint.

The hospital agrees to pay Dr. Dennis Burke $13 million and offers him his former job back to settle his wrongful termination suit. The 67-year-old orthopedic surgeon had been fired after releasing his own patient records to the Boston Globe Spotlight team in 2015 in order to support the safety complaints he had registered over the hospital’s practice of allowing doctors to perform two operations simultaneously.
