Massachusetts College of Art and Design (second) is built.

Originally the Massachusetts Normal Art School, then Massachusetts College of Art, it is designed in the Medieval Revival style and located on Brookline Avenue. The school moves to its current location on Huntington Avenue in 1983.* The original brown brick building becomes part of the Shapiro Clinical Center at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center.
