Marshall (John) School (second) opens.

Architect: Whitney Atwood Norcross Associates, Inc. It is located at 35 Westville Street. It is built originally to conform to provisions of the Massachusetts Racial Imbalance Law, but a vote by the Boston School Committee just before the school opens prevents that from happening. The building becomes the home of the Unlocking Potential Academy Charter School of Dorchester in 2013.
