Lodge (Henry Cabot Jr.) is born in Nahant.

July 5, 1902

The son of George Cabot Lodge and grandson of Henry Cabot Lodge, Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. graduates from Harvard College, and works initially as a reporter in Boston and New York. Returning to Boston, he lives in at 31 Beacon Street. He serves in the Massachusetts House of Representatives (1933-36) and U.S. Senate (1937-1944, 1947-1953), while also serving in the U.S. Army in World War II. Lodge serves as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (1953-1960), runs unsuccessfully for vice president in 1960, and serves as U.S. Ambassador to Germany (1968-69) and special envoy to the Vatican (1970-77). He dies in Beverly on February 27, 1985 and is buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
