Kimball (Moses) is born in Newburyport.

Moses Kimball arrives in Boston in 1828, subsequently purchases the collection of the former New England Museum on Court Street, and opens his own museum in 1841.* Kimball serves on the Common Council (1848-1849) and Board of Aldermen. He dies in Brookline in 1895.
