In her first voyage, the ship sets a record in sailing from Boston to Liverpool in 12 days. Later in the year, it sets a record for sailing around the world in 134 days, making the trip from Liverpool to Melbourne in 63 days, and the return trip in 69 days, both record-breaking times.
