When Sal DiMasi is elected Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, he joins Massachusetts Senate President Robert Travaglini and Boston Mayor Tom Menino in holding three of the four most powerful political offices in the state. Travaglini resigns his post in 2007, DiMasi in 2009, and Menino leaves office in 2013.
