Hunnewell (Hollis H.) House is built.

Architect: Sturgis & Brigham. Designed in the Victorian style, it is located at 315 Dartmouth Street. Subsequent occupants include T. Jefferson Coolidge, It becomes the home of the Thom Clinic from 1992 to 1993. The building is purchased by contractor Jay Cashman and returned to use as a private residence in 1997.
