Hotel and jet fuel taxes are authorized in Boston.

Massachusetts legislature approves a bill that allows cities and towns to to impose an additional 4% of the existing 5.75% hotel room tax as well as an excise tax on jet fuel. The two taxes are the first major new sources of revenue for Boston in many years.
