Hosemen John Tuttle, 36, is killed in the line of duty.

Tuttle and Francis Cutting are killed fighting a fire at 133 – 139 Federal Street. They become the first two firefighters to be buried in the Fireman’s Lot at Forest Hills Cemetery.
