Lodge (R) defeats James Michael Curley (D) by a margin of 875,000 to 732,000. In Boston, Lodge receives 103,856 votes and Curley 169,839. Lodge is reelected in 1942, resigns to enlist in the military in 1944, is once again elected to the Senate 1946.*
