Hayward (Lemuel) House is built.
1750
(ca.) The house is located on an estate on Eliot Street. It is purchased as a summer home by John Hancock in 1790. After living here briefly, he leaves it to his nephew Thomas, who builds a home on the property in 1800 and lives here until 1819. The estate is then purchase by Dr. Nathaniel Curtis, who lives here until 1857.
