Harvard Medical School (fourth) is built.

Architect: Gridley Bryant. Designed in the Federal style and built on wooden pilings, it is located on the banks of the Charles River near the Massachusetts General Hospital Bulfinch building on today’s North Grove Street. The school moves to a new building (fifth) on Boylston Street in 1883.*
