GMA Foundation is established.

Originally Grants Management Associates, it is founded by Newell Flather, Mary Phillips, and Ala Reid and located initially on Washington Street. Its purpose is to help private charitable foundations increase the impact and efficiency of their giving. The organization subsequently moves to 2 Liberty Square.
