Gayzagian (Albert) is born in Dorchester.

The son of Armenian immigrants, Albert Gayzagian loses his sight as a child and enters the Perkins School for the Blind at age 5. He goes on to graduate from Harvard College, work initially as a typist at John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1950, and then works his way up to oversee corporate planning for the company. He becomes the first blind trustee at the Perkins School in 1976, and dies on January 18, 2010.
