Gardner (Jack and Isabella) Gardner House is built.

Built by David Stewart for his daughter Isabella, who recently married Jack Gardner, it is located at 152 Beacon Street. The building is combined with the adjacent house at 150 Beacon Street in 1880. Gardner sells the property in 1903,* with a clause in the transaction that reputedly requires the new owner to demolish the buildings and prohibits him from using the 152 address in the future. Both houses are demolished and replaced by a new building at 150 Beacon Street in 1904.*
